Technically Incorrect provides a barely twisted tackle the tech that is taken over our lives
Ads are like phones.
They come, they go and so they have an effect on the world not within the slightest.
Then there’s this insanely twisted, artistic oeuvre on behalf of the AGM X2.
Chinese firm AGM is famend for creating rugged, sturdy telephones. This advert, I really feel positive, is without doubt one of the most sturdy ever made.
We’re in a hospital. A lady waits for information of her husband, who’s clearly been present process surgical procedure.
A surgeon emerges to inform her that her husband is lifeless.
She collapses with ache and grief. The surgeon has extra to say: “But I’ve excellent news for you.”
Indeed, the excellent news is that the surgeon has digitized the consciousness of the husband’s mind and inserted it into the high-quality, sturdy AGM X2 cellphone.
You did not suppose that was going to occur, did you?
What follows is fantastically macabre and a beautiful indication of what your youngsters’s futures would possibly appear like.
The (virtually) widowed lady stares into her cellphone in all places she goes, chatting along with her husband. As you’d too, if you happen to had been in these circumstances and know-how allowed it.
Her husband says he is doing remarkably nicely. Given that he lives contained in the cellphone, he wants charging quite than meals.
And then, as if this lady hasn’t already suffered sufficient, she drops her cellphone — and her husband’s mind — within the river. She’s bathed in grief another time.
This advert is merciless past measure. But then somebody fishes the cellphone out — did I point out these telephones are stated to be waterproof? — and her husband is along with her once more.
They go for a celebratory stroll collectively and, naturally, take selfies. How he takes his selfie needs to be witnessed with a purpose to have really lived.
And then, as if the warped cruelty hasn’t been sufficient, the lady is about upon by a gang of males whose chief appears to have had designs on her and is upset that she’s married.
Yes, this advert actually is a cleaning soap opera all offered in simply over three minutes.
Yet once more, the cellphone suffers punishment and finally ends up again within the river. (Well, you must get these product factors throughout, do not you?)
Is this sufficient drama for you?
A spokesman for AGM instructed me that, because it was launched on the finish of January, the advert has garnered greater than 6 million on-line views on the cell video platform MIAOPAI.
This is, although, one of many extra demented creations I’ve ever had the privilege of witnessing. I concern I could by no means be capable of overlook it.
Logging Out: Welcome to the crossroads of on-line life and the afterlife.
