'Late Night' Writer Shreds 'Roseanne': It's Better Than Ever At Being Racist

Comedian Amber Ruffin referred to as out the rebooted sitcom “Roseanne” on Thursday’s broadcast of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” for being “higher than ever at being racist.”

Ruffin dissected final week’s “tired-ass episode” wherein Roseanne Barr’s Donald Trump-supporting character Roseanne Conner suspected her new Muslim neighbors of being terrorists ― proper up till they loaned her their WiFi password. Conner later saved the mother of the Muslim household from a racist grocery retailer cashier, proving she was not prejudiced.

“Now, let me let you know one of many bajillion the explanation why this episode was poison,” stated Ruffin.

“She didn’t like these folks till they proved to her that they had been one of many ‘good ones’ by giving her their WiFi password, so what would have occurred on this episode if that they had been imply to her, as was their proper to do? She’d have referred to as the cops and so they’d have gone to jail. That’s what the fuck what. And that’s what’s mistaken with this episode. The minorities needed to show themselves to her. That’s a harmful mentality and it isn’t restricted to ‘Roseanne.’”
