Eric Ripert Pays Tribute To Anthony Bourdain: He 'Was My Best Friend'

Famed chef Eric Ripert shared his ideas concerning the death of his “best friend” Anthony Bourdain on Friday afternoon.

“Anthony was my finest buddy. An distinctive human being, so inspiring & beneficiant,” Ripert wrote on Twitter. “One of the good storytellers who linked w so many. CNN confirmed Bourdain’s death Friday and reported that he died by suicide. Ripert was the one who discovered Bourdain unresponsive in his resort room in France. He was filming an upcoming episode of his collection “Parts Unknown.” Bourdain was 61.

Ripert is from France and is thought for his experience with seafood. His flagship restaurant Le Bernardin repeatedly seems on the influential “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” record. He has appeared in lots of episodes of Bourdain’s reveals “No Reservations” and “Parts Unknown.”

Bourdain’s girlfriend, the Italian actress Asia Argento, shared her own grief on Twitter Friday.

“Anthony gave all of himself in every little thing that he did. His good, fearless spirit touched and impressed so many, and his generosity knew no bounds,” she wrote. “I’m past devastated.”
